Football Recap: Louisville Lions vs. Gross Catholic Cougars

Louisville had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it six. They took a blow against the Gross Catholic Cougars, falling 37-0. The Lions lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 14-0 score last time.

Mitch Shelsta threw for 46 yards on three of six attempts. Oliver Aden was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards.

As for Gross Catholic, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2. Considering they have won four matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Gross Catholic to victory were Robbie Brennan and Colton Sweetmon. Brennan gained 171 total yards and a touchdown, while Sweetmon threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Those 184 passing yards gave Sweetmon a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Gross Catholic is set to take on their familiar foe Ashland-Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
