Softball Recap: Andrews Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Andrews waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Waccamaw Warriors 12-2. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Addyson Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Davis was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Victoria Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Emmalee Lambert, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Andrews always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Andrews' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Waccamaw, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Coming up, Waccamaw will welcome Dillon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Andrews will be paying especially close attention to the Warriors' contest: after the Warriors faces off against the Wildcats, they'll take on Andrews again at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
