Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Waltrip

Waltrip put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Sharpstown Apollos get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly 15 runs.

Waltrip got a big performance out of Holley Chavez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Chavez is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Gizelle Garcia was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Waltrip always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .783. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Waltrip's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Sharpstown, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waltrip will take on Austin at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sharpstown, they will face off against Westbury at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westbury has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.5 runs per game on average), something Sharpstown will no doubt try to take advantage of.
