Softball Recap: Arcadia Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

After only two runs in their last matchup, Arcadia made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mesquite on Thursday. The Titans walked away with an 11-7 win over the Wildcats. Considering the Titans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Sydney Kelley, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Nassos, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Arcadia hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Arcadia pushed their record up to 14-8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Mesquite, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcadia will head out to face off against Marcos de Niza at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Padres have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Mesquite, they are taking a road trip to challenge Thunderbird at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
