Soccer Game Preview: Houghton Lake vs. Gladwin

For the first time this season, Houghton Lake will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Gladwin Flying G at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Houghton Lake can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Thursday. They came up short against Sacred Heart Academy, falling 8-0.

Meanwhile, Gladwin took on Clare in their season opener and it was just the start the team was looking for. The Flying G's beat the Pioneers by a goal, winning 1-0. The victory continues a trend for Gladwin in their matchups with Clare: they've now won three in a row.

Houghton Lake might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Gladwin in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
