University has gone a perfect 10-0 against Preston recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Hawks will look to defend their home field against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in University's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Preston has been banged up by 14 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
University's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Petersburg 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Maddie Campbell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Sophia Lehosit was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Whitney Cox, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Preston fell victim to Buckhannon-Upshur and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 8-0 to the Buccaneers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
University's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Preston, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Preston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: University hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .386. It's a different story for Preston, though, as they've only averaged .202. Will they be able to contain University's hitters?
