Baseball Recap: Centauri Wins Going Away Against Rocky Ford

Centauri won the last time they faced Rocky Ford and things went their way on Friday too. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Meloneers. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Falcons' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Dylan Gallardo made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Centauri's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't). Gallardo was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jace Haslett was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Kamryn Garcia also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Centauri was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory snapped Centauri's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record. As for Rocky Ford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Centauri beat Rocky Ford by a score of 6-2 later that day.
