Soccer Game Preview: Northern Durham vs. East Chapel Hill

Northern Durham is 0-10 against East Chapel Hill since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Knights will square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Northern Durham has given up an average of 3.2 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northern Durham is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals on Monday, they were much more limited against Riverside-Durham on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but East Chapel Hill ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Chapel Hill 1-0. The win was familiar territory for East Chapel Hill, who have now won three contests in a row.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Eva Kornbluth, who's now up to 12 this season.

East Chapel Hill's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matchups. As for Northern Durham, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Northern Durham suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to East Chapel Hill in their previous meeting on April 8th. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
