Baseball Recap: Sheldon Takes a Loss

Sheldon lost against Cosumnes Oaks last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Sheldon lost 9-2 to Cosumnes Oaks. The Huskies' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Jaren Azores was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Moises Castillo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Cosumnes Oaks, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheldon will welcome Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Franklin's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Sheldon's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cosumnes Oaks, they will be playing at home against Burbank at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
