Basketball Recap: Runge Comes Up Short

Runge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Victoria Cobra HomeSchool Cobra and fell 60-11. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-5.

Victoria Cobra HomeSchool was led to victory by Mary Jane Ripa and Bre LeVrier. Ripa posted 19 points, while LeVrier earned 17 points. That's the most points LeVrier has posted since back in November. The team also got some help courtesy of Mollie Baylor, who had eight points.

Runge's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-2.

Runge will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Moulton at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Victoria Cobra HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
