Softball Game Preview: Methacton Warriors vs. Boyertown Bears

The Methacton Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Boyertown Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Methacton will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Methacton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Upper Perkiomen on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Boyertown unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Perkiomen Valley by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bears couldn't push the score so high this time.

Kyra Neiswender spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Boyertown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Sobeck, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Boyertown's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Methacton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Methacton couldn't quite get it done against Boyertown when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 5-1. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
