Basketball Preview: Stafford Bulldogs vs. Bolton Bulldogs
Stafford is 2-8 against the Bulldogs since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Stafford has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 20.
On Saturday, Stafford suffered a tough 48-28 loss at the hands of the Bobcats.
Meanwhile, Bolton unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Somers 58-31. Bolton was down 49-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Bolton's loss came about despite a quality game from Niya Islam, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Islam pulled down eight or more rebounds. Abbie Gravel was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 17 rebounds.
Stafford's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Bolton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.
Stafford was taken down by the Bulldogs 46-17 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Stafford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
