Basketball Recap: Mitch Paspal's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Salem over Howell

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Howell Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Rocks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Highlanders are ranked 107th).

Salem lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mitch Paspal, who went 5 for 8 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Creighton, who posted ten points.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Howell, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Salem wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-47 defeat against Northville on the 7th. As for Howell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-41 loss against Brighton on the 7th.
