Baseball Game Preview: Brewer Witches vs. Brunswick Dragons

The Brewer Witches will head out on the road to face off against the Brunswick Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brewer's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Brunswick's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Brewer took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Bangor 6-4.

Meanwhile, Brunswick waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Windjammers get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. While the Dragons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Jimmy Cook, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Blood, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Brunswick's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Brewer, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
