Soccer Game Preview: Lakeside vs. Garfield

The Lakeside Lions will venture away from home to take on the Garfield Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lakeside's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Blanchet on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Lakeside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Bishop Blanchet are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Garfield also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Roosevelt on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for Garfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-2.

Lakeside beat Garfield 3-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
