Basketball Recap: Finley Carpenter Key Part of a Team Effort in Colts Win

Philip Barbour posted their biggest win since January 29, 2024 on Friday. They blew past the Robert C. Byrd Eagles 53-27. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Colts also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Philip Barbour's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Finley Carpenter led the charge by going 5 for 12 en route to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Carpenter a new career-high in blocks. Izzy Knotts was another key player, putting up eight points along with six boards and four steals.

Philip Barbour smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Philip Barbour and bumps their season record up to 3-5. As for Robert C. Byrd, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-10.
