Baseball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short at Home Against Stratton

Springfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 9-3 to the Stratton Eagles on Tuesday. The Longhorns haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Gunner Mackey was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Springfield is set to face off against their familiar foe Cheyenne Wells at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Stratton will challenge rival Granada at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
