Baseball Recap: York Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for York, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Platteview Trojans on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Dukes as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Thomas Bonde made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because York is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Bonde was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

York's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Platteview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. York is set to square off against their familiar foe Wayne at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Platteview will face off against rival Beatrice at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
