Basketball Game Preview: Pieper Warriors vs. Alamo Heights Mules

The Pieper Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Alamo Heights Mules at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Pieper is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Boerne-Champion just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers.

Meanwhile, Alamo Heights had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 53-44 win over the Greyhounds. 53 seems to be a good number for the Mules as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Pieper's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-5. As for Alamo Heights, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3.

Pieper strolled past Alamo Heights when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 44-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pieper since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
