Soccer Recap: Rural Retreat Takes a Loss

Rural Retreat was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the George Wythe Maroons, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Rural Retreat can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while George Wythe are ranked 112th).

Rural Retreat's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for George Wythe, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rural Retreat will take on Fort Chiswell at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for George Wythe, they will face off against Galax at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
