Basketball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside was the 56-45 winner over Northwest Christian School when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Riverside Rams had to suffer through a 71-38 loss at the hands of the Northwest Christian School Crusaders. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Northwest Christian School was led to victory by Avi West and Caleb Grant. West went 11 of 14 en route to 27 points, while Grant went 10 of 12 on his way to 26 points. West's evening made it 23 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Slade, who posted eight points.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Northwest Christian School, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Riverside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-49 victory against Newport on the 11th. As for Northwest Christian School, they will take on St. George's at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Christian School knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully St. George's likes a good challenge.
