Softball Recap: McHenry Gets the Win

McHenry took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Hampshire, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Whip-Purs on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Whip-Purs on April 11th, they had to take a 11-1 defeat.

Kendal Rogers was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 14 games. Another player making a difference was Ava Elbrecht, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

McHenry's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Hampshire, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. McHenry is set to challenge their familiar foe Huntley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hampshire will face off against rival Jacobs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
