Venture Academy won the last time they faced Aspire Langston Hughes Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 15-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Savanah Espinoza was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tiffany Bruss was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two triples, and three runs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Clara Garcia also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Venture Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Venture Academy pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Aspire Langston Hughes Academy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
