Valparaiso and Chesterton are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Valparaiso Vikings will be playing at home against the Chesterton Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Valparaiso is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Crown Point on Friday. Valparaiso took a 63-47 bruising from Crown Point. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Bulldogs are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, Chesterton came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 64-58 W against the Wolves.

Valparaiso's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Chesterton, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.

Valparaiso didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Chesterton when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 63-57 victory.
