Baseball Recap: St. Clair Victorious

St. Clair proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hermann Bearcats, sneaking past 1-0. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won three in a row.

The result came thanks to Clayton Ingram's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because St. Clair is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 4-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nate Short, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

The victory got St. Clair back to even at 7-7. As for Hermann, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Looking ahead, St. Clair will be playing in front of their home fans against Union at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hermann, they are taking a road trip to challenge Belle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
