Softball Recap: Stadium Drops Highest Score of Season Against Auburn

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stadium). Everything went their way against the Auburn Trojans on Thursday as they made off with an 18-1 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tigers with their most commanding win of the season.

Ella Enciso and Izzy Galindo were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Enciso tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Galindo tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Enciso went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Galindo went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two runs gave Enciso a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lily Hart was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Joelle Clapp was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Stadium hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Auburn struck out eight times.

Stadium's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Auburn, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stadium will head out to take on Kennedy Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Auburn, they will take on Auburn Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
