Baseball Recap: Archbishop Alter's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Archbishop Alter had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the Valley View Spartans 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since April 4th.

Owen Thompson was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Thomas Drake was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Archbishop Alter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Archbishop Alter's victory bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Valley View, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop Alter will venture away from home to take on Clinton-Massie at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley View, they will head out to face off against Brookville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
