Basketball Recap: McLouth Takes a Loss

McLouth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 37-30 to the Jackson Heights Cobras. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cobras this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-34 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chesnea Cochren, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Cochren has posted since back in December of 2024. Savannah Cattrell was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

McLouth's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-1. As for Jackson Heights, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-14.

McLouth didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-34 loss against Atchison County on the 17th. As for Jackson Heights, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 41-28 defeat against Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy on the 20th.
