Luling and Nixon-Smiley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Luling came up short against Karnes City and fell 7-3.

Zoey Williams made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Unique Tealer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Nixon-Smiley lost 19-4 to Stockdale on Tuesday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nixon-Smiley's loss dropped their record down to 9-13-1. As for Luling, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Luling was able to grind out a solid victory over Nixon-Smiley in their previous meeting back in March, winning 10-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
