Churubusco hasn't had much luck against Angola recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will welcome the Hornets at 7:00 p.m.
Last Wednesday, Churubusco didn't have quite enough to beat Fort Wayne Canterbury and fell 3-2.
Churubusco took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-20, 20-25, 17-25, 25-22, 15-10.
Despite their loss, Churubusco saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Amira Wilson, who had 11 digs, was perhaps the best of all. Cora Boersema was another key player, getting seven digs and three aces.
Meanwhile, Angola got the win against Prairie Heights on Monday by a conclusive 3-0.
While Angola won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12, 26-24.
Churubusco's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Angola, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
