Softball Recap: Almira-Coulee-Hartline Has No Trouble Against Wellpinit

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Inchelium, Almira-Coulee-Hartline was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Wellpinit Redskins with a sharp 22-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now won five in a row.

Madison Brink was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Almira-Coulee-Hartline got a massive performance out of Mallory Isaak, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Hannah Brummett, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Almira-Coulee-Hartline always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .821. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Almira-Coulee-Hartline now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wellpinit, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Almira-Coulee-Hartline will challenge Brewster at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wellpinit, they will face off against Mary Walker at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.13 runs per game on average), something the Redskins will no doubt try to take advantage of.
