Basketball Recap: Pacific Takes a Loss

Pacific lost against Indian Springs two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pacific Pirates were beaten by the Indian Springs COYOTES 78-31. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-14.

Despite the loss, Pacific still got an impressive performance from Maurice Fitzgerald, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 22 boards. Fitzgerald's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Douglas Perez, who posted four points and seven assists.

Even though they lost, Pacific smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.

Pacific's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Indian Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season.

Pacific is taking a road trip to square off against San Bernardino at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Bernardino will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Pacific surely won't give up without a fight. Indian Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
