Corpus Christi Moody extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Shantaye Hazel. The Corpus Christi Moody Trojans came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 62-58 W against the Pioneer Diamondbacks thanks in part to Hazel, who posted 20 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. The match was her sixth in a row with at least 16 points.

Kiyah Taylor was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Pioneer lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Anika Fleischmann, who dropped a triple-double with 17 points, 14 boards, and ten blocks. She has become a key player for Pioneer: the team is 21-3 when she posts at least ten rebounds, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ebonie Chatman, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards.

Corpus Christi Moody's victory bumped their record up to 28-9. As for Pioneer, their defeat dropped their record down to 27-10.

Corpus Christi Moody didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-32 loss against Liberty Hill on the 17th. Pioneer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
