Football Recap: Rockmart Yellowjackets vs. South Atlanta Hornets
It's playoff time, and Rockmart had no trouble coming through when it counted. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the South Atlanta Hornets 50-20. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 22 points or more this season.
Nate Davis was his usual excellent self, rushing for 120 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 116 rushing yards. Gavin Green was in the mix too, providing Rockmart with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rockmart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Rockmart, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Green, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The win was the ninth in a row for Rockmart, bringing their record up to 10-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.1 points over those games.
