Softball Recap: Plano Find Success

Plano lost to Plano West back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Wildcats walked away with a 13-8 win over the Wolves. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Cadence Charland made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Taylor Pitts was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Aubrey Zhang was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Plano always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plano West only posted an OBP of .361.

Plano's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Plano West, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Plano will square off against rival Prosper at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Plano West is set to face off against their familiar foe McKinney at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
