Softball Recap: Mary G. Montgomery Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Mary G. Montgomery proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bryant Hurricanes a 1-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since February 23, 2024.

The result came thanks to Malena Simonson's shutout, as she gave up just six hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

Mary G. Montgomery's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Bryant, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
