Basketball Game Preview: St. John Tigers vs. Holcomb Longhorns

The St. John Tigers will face off against the Holcomb Longhorns on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

If St. John beats Holcomb with 64 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Everything went St. John's way against Bucklin on Monday as St. John made off with a 64-39 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Tigers have posted since January 30th.

St. John can attribute much of their success to Emmett Delp, who posted 20 points, and Quade Smith, who put up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Alpers, who earned eight points.

Meanwhile, Holcomb strolled past Nickerson with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 66-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Longhorns.

St. John's victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0. As for Holcomb, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
