Softball Recap: Halifax Takes a Loss

While it was Halifax who put the first points on the board on Wednesday, it was Montgomery who put up more. Halifax fell just short of Montgomery by a score of 10-9. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Raiders 4-0 in the first period.

Angel Villa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Roland, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Villa wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Halifax kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Halifax and nudges their season record down to 2-2. Montgomery has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Halifax wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-4 defeat against Upper Dauphin Area on the 28th. As for Montgomery, they have also already played their next contest, a 20-1 win against Sugar Valley Rural on the 28th.
