The Silver Creek Raptors will venture away from home to square off against the Mead Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Silver Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Silver Creek after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Broomfield, falling 12-2. The loss continues a trend for the Raptors in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Nate Spiegel was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Mead was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to Longmont.

Mead has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-4 record this season. As for Silver Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Silver Creek skirted past Mead 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raptors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
