Basketball Recap: Provo Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Provo won the last time they faced Stansbury and things went their way on Friday too. The Provo Bulldogs rang in the new year with a 66-54 victory over the Stansbury Stallions. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Leading Provo to victory were Makai Allen and Lucas Castagnetto. Allen went 10 of 20 on his way to 27 points and five steals, while Castagnetto went 6 of 7 on his way to 17 points. That's the most steals Allen has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin DeMartini, who posted ten points.

Provo's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Stansbury, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Provo will take on Timpanogos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stansbury, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Snow Canyon at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stansbury is facing Snow Canyon at the right time seeing as Snow Canyon is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
