Soccer Game Preview: Anacortes vs. Lynden Christian

The Anacortes Seahawks will head out to take on the Lynden Christian Lyncs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Anacortes' offense. They lost 5-0 to Squalicum on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for Anacortes in their meetings with Squalicum: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Lynden Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pioneers by a score of 3-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Lynden Christian were the better team in the second half.

They hit Nooksack Valley with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jacob Penner, Luke Bos, and Harvest Howell.

Lynden Christian picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-4-1. As for Anacortes, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1-2.

Anacortes beat Lynden Christian 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Do the Seahawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lyncs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
