Holdrege proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the York Dukes 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Dusters in their matchups with the Dukes: they've now won three in a row.

Holdrege was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (104-101), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-20, 25-20, 19-25, 16-14.

Carson Sundquist paced Holdrege's offense, picking up 14 kills. Sundquist got some help from Addy Stutzman and her 38 assists.

When it comes to explaining why York lost, don't look at Claire Koch. Despite the final result, she had 29 digs and three assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Bathen, who had 13 digs and one assist.

Holdrege's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for York, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Holdrege didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Ogallala on the 23rd. As for York, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Aurora on the 19th.
