Lamar skates past Wayne Academy with ease

Recap: Lamar Raiders vs. Wayne Academy Jaguars

The Lamar Raiders won the last time they faced the Wayne Academy Jaguars, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Lamar breezed by Wayne Academy on the road to the tune of 65-26. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-11.

Lamar was led to victory by Blake Hart and Aryah Grace. Hart scored 24 points along with six assists and five steals, while Grace dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Grace's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Dudley Reed, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

The victory makes it two in a row for Lamar and bumps their season record up to 9-10. As for Wayne Academy, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Lamar will be playing in front of their home fans against Leake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Leake Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lamar in Mississippi (Leake Academy is ranked 11th, while Lamar is ranked 86th). As for Wayne Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Simpson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
