Basketball Recap: Maple Hill Comes Up Short

If Maple Hill was feeling good fresh off their 54-33 takedown of Coxsackie-Athens last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Maple Hill Wildcats were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 48-47 to the Watervliet Cannoneers. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Maple Hill's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-1. As for Watervliet, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Maple Hill will head out to face off against Berne-Knox-Westerlo at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. As for Watervliet, they will be home for the holidays to greet Rensselaer at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
