Softball Recap: Maumee Panthers vs. Perkins Pirates

Maumee gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Perkins Pirates. The win made it back-to-back victories for Maumee.

Maumee got a massive performance out of Autumn Gugger, who went 3-for-5 with a home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Gugger is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's hit at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Lilly Duling was another key contributor, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with a home run and two RBI.

Maumee's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. As for Perkins, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maumee will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Otsego at 4:45 p.m. on April 9th. As for Perkins, they will head out on the road to challenge Ross at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
