Baseball Recap: Clover Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Clover nor Catawba Ridge made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Blue Eagles took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Copperheads. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Copperheads this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 on Monday.

Clover saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Marano, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Clover has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season. As for Catawba Ridge, they pushed their record up to 17-7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

While Clover had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
