Basketball Game Preview: Walkertown Wolfpack vs. McMichael Phoenix

Walkertown is 8-1 against McMichael since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Walkertown Wolfpack will head out on the road to face off against the McMichael Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. Walkertown will be strutting in after a win while McMichael will be coming in after a loss.

Walkertown took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 69-23 victory over North Forsyth. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-8.

Walkertown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamir Wilson, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Wilson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jaden McCandies, who went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points.

Meanwhile, McMichael came up short against Morehead on Friday and fell 57-44.

Walkertown pushed their record up to 9-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for McMichael, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Walkertown against McMichael in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 74-43 victory. In that matchup, Walkertown amassed a halftime lead of 39-16, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
