Basketball Game Preview: Dallas HSAA Angels vs. Lighthouse Christian Chargers

The Dallas HSAA Angels will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Lighthouse Christian Chargers at 6:20 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dallas HSAA is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Muddy River HomeSchool on Tuesday. Dallas HSAA secured a 45-41 W over Muddy River HomeSchool. The win was all the more spectacular given the Angels' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 651st in Texas, while the Counselors are ranked 73rd in Mississippi).

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lighthouse Christian had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF by a score of 79-68.

Lighthouse Christian's win came from a few key players Dallas HSAA will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Judah Louderback, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Rahn, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

Lighthouse Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are 22-4 when they've passed the ball that well.

Dallas HSAA's record now sits at 4-8. As for Lighthouse Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-11 record this season.

Everything went Dallas HSAA's way against Lighthouse Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, as Dallas HSAA made off with a 72-52 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lighthouse Christian's Tanner Thouvenot, who shot 71% from the field en route to 26 points.
