Baseball Game Preview: West Columbus Vikings vs. South View Tigers

The West Columbus Vikings will face off against the South View Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

West Columbus is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against St. Pauls on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to the Bulldogs. The Vikings have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

West Columbus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jahan Lesane-Powell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, South View hadn't done well against Gray's Creek recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. South View came out on top against Gray's Creek by a score of 7-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

David Ramsey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

The win got South View back to even at 5-5. As for West Columbus, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
