Baseball Preview: NSU University Sharks vs. True North Classical Academy Titans

The NSU University Sharks will take on the True North Classical Academy Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, NSU University got the win against Community School of Naples by a conclusive 8-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sharks.

Aidan Jacobs looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, Griffin Pomper and Bradyn Potter did most of the damage at the plate: Pomper scored a run while going 4-for-4, while Potter scored three runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, Potter also racked up two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Isaac Rosa was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, True North Classical Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Stoneman Douglas a 1-0 shutout on Thursday.

Alan Soler looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. What's more, he also gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, True North Classical Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Cedeno, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Another was Misael Uriepero, who scored a run and stole two bases.
